I have been a plant-lover since childhood, captivated by the gifts of nature found all around us. I remember being out in the woods with my dad, digging up sassafras roots, and running to the camp fire to make tea. That experience of oneness with nature, of discovery and connection, is still with me as I create herbal remedies for my clients.
I have also found great joy in teaching, whether tutoring a struggling chemistry student, mentoring aspiring researchers, or leading workshops in my community. I love watching the process of discovery and am gratified by the knowledge that what my students, clients, and members of the community have learned can inform them for the rest of their lives.
As a clinical herbalist, I consider myself a partner and teacher of health rather than a healer. Our bodies know how to heal on their own if given the right circumstances. I simply teach my clients how to listen to their bodies and support their own healing processes, giving them knowledge and tools that can continue to support them after each session. My practice combines my degree in chemistry, love of plants, and understanding of the healing process to give my clients individualized support as they work on their health goals.
My clients come away from our consults feeling listened to, alive, and “off to higher ground.”
